Good news for Punekars; the new terminal at Pune International Airport is set to open soon!

The newly constructed terminal at Pune International Airport is gearing up to welcome passengers, following the approval of additional Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel by the Union Home Ministry. This significant development was achieved through the dedicated efforts of Pune MP and Minister of State (Civil Aviation), Murlidhar Mohol, who personally met with Home Minister Amit Shah to secure the necessary manpower.

The Modi government had previously inaugurated the new terminal to accommodate the increasing demand for flights from Pune. However, the operationalization of the terminal faced delays due to insufficient CISF staffing. Minister Mohol, upon assuming office, promptly addressed this issue with the Home Ministry, leading to the approval of 222 additional CISF positions.

Minister Mohol expressed his gratitude, stating, “Efforts to expedite the opening of the new terminal have borne fruit with the approval of 222 various CISF posts for Pune Airport, covering seven different roles. This brings the total CISF manpower at Pune Airport to 715, meeting the requirements for the new terminal without any further delays. We are now working towards opening the terminal at the earliest possible date. On behalf of Pune’s citizens, we extend our gratitude to Home Minister Amit Shah for his support in fulfilling this manpower demand.”
