Pune: No Further Delays in Multi-Level Flyover Construction at Pune University Junction Will Be Acceptable – Siddharth Shirole
Pune, January 18, 2024: Member of Legislative Assembly Siddharth Shirole from the Shivajinagar constituency has declared that no further delays in the multi-level flyover construction at the Pune University Junction will be tolerated.
Today, Shirole conducted an on-site review of the ongoing project, accompanied by representatives from the contractor Tata, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), and Pune City Traffic Police.
Acknowledging previous delays caused by construction complexities and traffic adjustments, Shirole reported that contractors have committed to opening the ramp and roads from Bremen Circle to Agriculture College by April. Furthermore, the two main ramps connecting Aundh and Baner to Ganeshkhind Road are expected to be operational before the monsoon season.
The PMC, PMRDA officials, and contractors have assured swift action to address issues such as haphazard debris, misaligned barricades, and potholes on the affected roads to facilitate smoother traffic flow. Enhanced police presence and improved traffic management have also been promised by the DCP of Pune Traffic.
Shirole emphasized that these revised deadlines are final and non-negotiable. “The congestion and inconvenience caused by this construction have been significant, but I am confident that in the coming months, this flyover will greatly ease traffic flow at this crucial junction and entry point of Pune city,” he stated.
