Pune: PCMC implements monsoon safety measures for citizens, check details

In view of the safety of citizens and tourists, warning boards and barricades should be installed at possible disaster-prone places in the municipal area, and necessary measures should be taken to ensure that no accident occurs. Joint Commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar gave directions to all the department heads and zonal offices.

Accidents have taken place at various places in Pune district in the wake of monsoon and there has been loss of life. Accordingly, on behalf of the Disaster Management Cell of the Collectorate, instructions have been given to take immediate disaster prevention measures at possible disaster prone places in the municipal area.

Citizens visits during monsoon tourism at places like river ghats, bridges, lakes, dams, parks, mines in Pimpri Chinchwad city. Precautionary measures should be taken by the concerned departments. All the zonal offices should install barricades at necessary places. Meanwhile, Joint Commissioner Indalkar said, a disaster management plan has been prepared on behalf of the Municipal Corporation in the background of monsoon. Accordingly, flood control cells have been set at all the zonal offices along with the central flood control cell. Also, the water level of Pavana, Mula, Indrayani rivers flowing through the city is being checked from time to time. “Emergency Response Team” working 24 hours has been established at all the zonal offices. It is appealed to the citizens to contact this team in case of emergency.
