The plantation of Manvel variety bamboo saplings was organized at Jadhav Sarkar Chowk, Spine Road, Chikhali in association with the Parks and Tree Conservation Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Farmers for Forests. Present at the event were Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodde, Ravikiran Ghodke, Park Superintendent Rajesh Vasave, Founder of Farmers for Forest Institute Kritika Ravi Shankar, Chief Executive Officer Aditya Avinashe, Project Coordinator Prashil Chaudhary, Sahil, Volunteers Jagdish, Manish, Sachin, and Municipal employees.

The Municipal Corporation has decided to plant one lakh bamboo plants to green the city and create a bio-fence. In line with this initiative, bamboo saplings are being planted at various locations across the city with support from organizations like Farmers for Forest.

Under this initiative, bamboo plants are being planted on Spine Road in Chikhali to combat pollution from industries and vehicles and address the lack of public gardens and green spaces. This bamboo plantation will help maintain air quality, create an environment-friendly atmosphere for traffic, and give the area a distinct identity. Additionally, the plantation will educate citizens about various trees like bamboo and highlight the importance of biodiversity and green spaces. A QR code will be placed at the site of the bamboo plantation, allowing citizens to scan and access information about the project and tree species.
