Pune/Pimpri: According to a circular issued by PCMC administration, all department heads should inform the officers under their authority that all administrative work in the Municipal Corporation should be done in the Marathi language. It should be ensured that all the work in their department and the signatures of the officers should be in the Marathi language.

A circular has been issued by the Marathi Language Department of the State Government for the use of Marathi language in municipal affairs and transactions. Accordingly, a circular has been issued to all departments on behalf of the administration department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. It has been made mandatory to use the Marathi language in all the administrative works and activities of the Municipal Corporation. All department heads should ensure that all the work in their department is done in the Marathi language.

In order to effectively use the Marathi language in the administrative work of the Municipal Corporation, it will be mandatory to provide information about the schemes implemented by the Municipal Corporation, phone conversations, correspondence with the public, speeches of senior officials in meetings, and signatures of officers and employees in the Marathi language. Sample forms, leaflets, licenses, forms, rule books, all types of comments, files, policies, orders, notifications, draft rules, reports, invitation cards, tenders, minutes of meetings, office nameplates, and websites for the citizens should be in the Marathi language.

If it is necessary to provide information on the municipal website from time to time, as well as department information at the national and international level, such information should be published in both Marathi and English languages. Additionally, it has been mentioned in the circular that the committees and study groups falling under the prohibited purpose have been exempted.
