Pune: PMC Issues Notices to 140 Unsafe Wadas for Monsoon Safety

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued notices to 140 old and unsafe wadas (traditional homes) in various parts of the city, urging them to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season.

A survey of the wadas was conducted by the PMC with the help of a private agency. Last monsoon, PMC demolished over 40 unsafe wadas.

The notices highlight the need for repairs to ensure the safety of residents during the monsoon rains. If these wadas require demolition and rebuilding, the PMC will provide residents with tenant certificates.

These certificates can be used to claim their property rights when the property is redeveloped in the future.
