Pune: PMC Shares Traffic changes for Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi

The Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Sohla will begin on Friday, June 28, 2024. The palkhi will depart from Dehu on Friday to embark on the Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari. In light of this event, traffic changes have been implemented on the Pimpri Chinchwad to Dehu route. These changes will be in effect until June 30, 2024. Parking arrangements have been made in Dehu for the vehicles of devotees attending the departure ceremony.

The first halt of Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palki will be at Inamdar Wada in Dehu itself. After that, the palkhi will proceed to Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi on Saturday, June 29. The palkhi will then head towards Pune.

Here are the traffic changes:

  • Traffic on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway from Dehu Kaman to Dehugaon will be closed. Vehicles on this route will go via Bhakti-Shakti Chowk, Triveninagar, Talwade Gaonthan, Kanbe Chowk, and Khandelwal Chowk Dehugaon.
  • The Chakan to Kanbe Chowk and Talwade Gaonthan Chowk to Kanbe Chowk to Mahindra Circle route will be closed. Vehicles on this route will go via Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi, and Nashik Highway to the desired location.
  • The Dehu Fata to Dehugaon route on the Talewade-Chakan Road will be closed. Vehicles on this route will go via HP Chowk.
  • The Dehu Kaman to Chauda Talakari Kaman to Bhairavnath Chowk route will be closed to all types of vehicles.
  • All types of vehicles will be prohibited from going on the Khandelwal Chowk to Dehu Kaman Main to Parandwal Chowk, Khandelwal Chowk to Dehu Main Kaman to Parandwal Chowk route.
  • All types of vehicles going from Central Chowk Dehu Road to Pune via Bhakti Shakti Marg will be prohibited from entering. All types of vehicles on this route will go via Central Chowk-Mamurdi-Kiwale-Bhoomkar Chowk-Dange Chowk.

Parking Arrangements for Devotees’ Vehicles

Parking arrangements have been made at the following locations for the vehicles of devotees:

  • Gairan Maidan in Dehugaon
  • COD Maidan (near Radha Krishna Mangal Karyalay)
  • Maidan next to Mauli Vajantkata in Khandelwal Chowk
