Pune, December 23, 2024: In a proactive measure to address persistent traffic congestion in the Navale Bridge area, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) initiated an action drive early on Monday, December 23.

Beginning at 7 a.m., the PMRDA team removed 25 illegally constructed leaf sheds. Officials also appealed to property owners and concerned individuals to refrain from unauthorized construction, which has been identified as a key contributor to traffic woes in the area.

Under the leadership of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhaske, the operation involved coordination with Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe, Joint Commissioner Dr. Deepti Suryavanshi-Patil, Deputy Collector Pramod Kudale, and Tehsildar Sachin Mhaske.

The enforcement team, which included junior engineers and personnel from the police and fire departments, targeted unauthorized structures erected by individuals such as Dilip Dada Navale, Vaishali Dangad, Sarang Navale, Atul Chakankar, and Vikas Nana Dangad.

The PMRDA’s Unauthorized Construction Removal Department has been actively surveying illegal constructions, including unauthorized hoardings, within its jurisdiction. Officials are urging property owners to seek proper permissions before initiating construction and to halt any ongoing unauthorized work immediately.

Dr. Yogesh Mhase expressed optimism that these actions will significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the Navale Bridge area. The PMRDA remains committed to maintaining order and ensuring smooth traffic flow by addressing violations promptly.
