During the hour-long interrogation, officials questioned the minor about the fatal accident, the replacement of blood samples, and other related incidents pertaining to the case.

On Saturday, Pune police officials questioned the 17-year-old allegedly involved in the Porsche car crash case at the observation home. The interrogation, which lasted over an hour, focused on the fatal accident, the replacement of blood samples, and other related incidents. The minor had collided with a bike using a Porsche, leading to the deaths of two people at Kalyaninagar on May 19.

Investigators reported that the juvenile admitted to being heavily drunk at the time of the accident and claimed he could not remember anything. The questioning took place in the presence of his mother, who has also been arrested.

The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) permitted the police to question the teenager on Friday. Under the Juvenile Justice Act, the inquiry of a minor must be conducted in the presence of the parents. The juvenile was questioned between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm at the Yerawada Observation Home, where he will remain until June 5.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, crime branch officials, including Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe, the juvenile’s mother, the district child protection officer, and others were present during the interrogation. Despite their efforts, the juvenile remained tight-lipped and uncooperative, repeatedly stating that he could not remember anything due to the alcohol he had consumed.

“Our officials asked the minor about his location before the accident, his presence at Blak and Cosie pubs, driving the Porsche, details of the accident, tampering with evidence, collection of blood samples and medical tests, and who else was involved in the kidnapping of their employed driver. To most questions, the minor claimed he could not remember because of the liquor he had consumed,” said a crime branch officer, requesting anonymity, wrote Hindustan Times.

Police officials have also collected statements from two other minors who were in the car at the time of the accident. The juvenile was accompanied by his two minor friends and the family driver during the incident.

Earlier on Thursday, the Pune city police submitted an application to the JJB seeking permission to question the juvenile in the presence of his counselors and parents.
