Pune: Quick-Thinking Women Traffic Cops in Hinjewadi Help Pregnant Woman Deliver Safely
In a heartwarming incident, two women traffic police officers in Pune, Neelam Vijay Chavan and Reshma Nazir Shaikh, played a crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery of a baby. On Sunday, Rajshree Madhav Waghmare (25), a pregnant woman en route to Aundh Hospital for delivery, experienced sudden labor pains near Hinjewadi.
The women officers, who were on duty nearby, quickly sprang into action. They comforted Rajshri and escorted her to a nearby shop. Simultaneously, they called for a doctor and an ambulance. Within no time, under the guidance of the doctor, Rajshree delivered a healthy baby in the makeshift setting.
Both mother and baby were later transported to Aundh Hospital for further care. The prompt response and empathy displayed by Neelam and Reshma have been widely lauded. Their timely intervention ensured that both the mother and her newborn are safe and healthy.
