Pune Ring Road: MSRDC Issues Notifications for Land Acquisition in Haveli and Khed Talukas

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has issued notifications for land acquisition for Pune Ring Road project in Haveli and Khed talukas to further accelerate the project towards its completion.

State Finance Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has allocated Rs 541 crore for 15 villages in these areas. This funding is part of the larger Rs 10,519 crore provision made for the land acquisition of the circular road in the interim budget.

To alleviate traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, MSRDC is constructing a 172 km long and 110 meter wide ring road, divided into eastern and western routes. The eastern route will pass through several villages: 12 in Khed, 15 in Haveli, 11 in Maval taluka, 05 in Purandar, and 03 in Bhor. The western route will pass through 01 village in Bhor taluka, 11 in Haveli, 15 in Mulshi, and 06 in Maval taluka.

Swift progress has been made on the western route of the ring road, with land acquisition completed in 31 of 34 villages, covering 644 hectares, at a cost of Rs 2975 crore. The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) provided a loan of Rs 10,000 crore for this acquisition. However, more funds were needed for the eastern route, prompting the MSRDC to request additional support from the state government.

The recent verdict announced by the district administration details the allocation of funds for the villages in Haveli and Khed talukas. Specifically, Rs 64 crore 29 lakhs have been sanctioned for villages in Haveli taluka, including Mauje Bivari, Gawdewadi, and Wadebolhai. Meanwhile, Rs 476 crore 72 lakhs have been allocated for villages in Khed taluka, including Solu, Nighoje, Moi, Markal, Kuruli, Khalumbre, Kelgaon, Golegaon, Dhanore, Chimbli, Charholi, and Alandi.
