Pune RTO Appeals Vehicle Owners to Install HSRP Before March 31; Starts a Portal for Registration
It is mandatory for older vehicles as well with a deadline of March 31, 2025
The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has appealed to all vehicle owners in the city to compulsorily affix High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on their vehicles before the deadline of March 31, 2025. This directive has been issued by the Government of Maharashtra for those vehicles which were manufactured before 1st April 2019.
Why HSRP is Important?
The main objective of HSRP is to enhance the safety of vehicles and prevent cases of theft. These plates are specially designed to reduce the risk of tampering and contain the unique identification code of the vehicle.
Easy Process Through Online Portal
Pune RTO has launched an online portal (mhhsrp.com) for the convenience of vehicle owners. By logging into this portal, vehicle owners can easily book an appointment by entering the necessary details like their registration number, chassis number, engine number and mobile number.
Fees and Procedures
The rates of HSRP are determined based on the type of vehicle:
Two wheeler and tractor: ₹450
Three wheeler: ₹500
Cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles: ₹745
HSRP plates take a maximum of one week to prepare. After booking the appointment, the vehicle owner can get it done within six months.
What Happens If the Deadline Is Missed?
If HSRP is not implemented by March 31, 2025, the vehicle owners may be fined. Hence, it is necessary to fulfill this imperative by booking an appointment on time.
Appeal by RTO
Pune RTO and related agencies have made every possible effort to make this process simple and easy. Vehicle owners are advised to complete this process as soon as possible and comply with the law.
