In a proactive step to address the increasing passenger grievances, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has introduced a WhatsApp helpline for swift resolution of complaints related to auto-rickshaws, cabs, and buses. This new initiative aims to tackle issues such as refusal of entry, overcharging, and other misconduct by drivers, ensuring prompt action and improved passenger experience.

Commuters in Pune have frequently reported incidents of auto-rickshaw drivers refusing fares within the city. Many drivers decline short-distance fares or demand amounts higher than the metered rate. Some even deceive passengers by quoting inflated prices instead of using the meter. Similar complaints have also been raised against cab and private bus drivers, with such incidents seeing a notable rise recently.

Previously, passengers faced significant inconvenience in filing written complaints, as they had to visit the RTO in person. To streamline the process, the RTO has now introduced a WhatsApp helpline number: 8275330101. Passengers can easily register their complaints via this number, and RTO officials will promptly investigate the issues.

Immediate action will be taken against drivers found violating regulations, thereby expediting the resolution process through this WhatsApp helpline. This initiative not only simplifies complaint registration but also demonstrates the RTO’s commitment to enhancing the overall transport experience for Pune’s commuters.
