Pune: Temporary Ban on Platform Ticket Sales to Ease Year-End Rush at Major Railway Stations

In a proactive move to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the year-end festive season, Central Railway has announced temporary restrictions on platform ticket sales at 14 major stations. The restriction will be in effect from 12:00 PM on December 29, 2024, to January 2, 2025. This measure aims to reduce overcrowding and ensure smooth passenger movement within station premises.

  • Mumbai Division: Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel
  • Pune Division: Pune
  • Nagpur Division: Nagpur
  • Bhusaval Division: Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola
  • Solapur Division: Solapur, Kalaburagi, Latur

Exemptions:

Senior citizens and individuals with medical needs are exempt from this restriction, ensuring their travel remains convenient.

Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and adhere to the guidelines during this period. The initiative reflects Central Railway’s commitment to passenger safety and convenience during peak travel times.
