Pune’s young athletes made a mark at the National Thai Boxing Championship, held at Eklavya Stadium, Agra, on August 30, 31, and September 1, 2024. Two talented boxers from Pune brought home medals, raising the city’s and Maharashtra’s profile.

Veevan Gangoli, competing in the 15 to 17 age group, secured the prestigious gold medal in the 61 to 65 kg weight category. Meanwhile, Anhad Agnihotri, from the 9 to 10 age group, earned a bronze medal in the 15 to 20 kg weight category. Their outstanding performances showcased their talent on a national stage.

The event saw the presence of Union Minister of State Prof. SP Singh Baghel, Santosh Khairnar, PY Attar, Mahant Yogesh Puri, Raghunath Yadav, Rajesh Goyal, and Sanjeev Choubey, who congratulated the winners. Karbhari Gaikwad played a key role in guiding the students throughout their journey.
