On Tuesday, thieves broke into Tarkeshwar Temple in Pune and stole 2 lakh cash.

Pune: In a shocking incident, thieves broke open donation boxes at Shree Tarkeshwar Temple on Parnkuti Hill in Yerawada, stealing cash amounting to two lakh rupees.

Sudhir Vasantrao Wambure (67), a temple trustee residing near Shani Mandir in Yerawada, has filed a complaint regarding the theft at Yerawada police station.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 4, when the thieves entered the temple by breaking the lock of the temple’s main door. Once inside, the thieves broke open six donation boxes and escaped with the cash.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar Magar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Aarti Bansode, and Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil visited the scene after receiving information about the theft. The police have recovered CCTV footage from the temple and are actively searching for the thieves.
