Pune: Two-Way Traffic Resumes on Ganeshkhind Road Between Pune University and Shimla Office

Two-way traffic resumed on Pune University road from today.

Pune traffic police have resumed two-way traffic on Ganeshkhind raod (University road) between Pune University chowk to Shimla Office chowk beginning today, August 10.

The traffic police had implemented one-way traffic on this route due to the ongoing Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 construction. This restriction had caused tremendous problems for drivers due to persistent traffic congestion, making it difficult to travel from Pune University Chowk to Shimla office chowk. Drivers had to take a longer and indirect route to cover this otherwise straight stretch.

Now two-way traffic on Ganeshkhind road (University road) has been resumed w.e.f Saturday, 10th August. Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Rohidas Pawar confirmed the changes in a press release.

The road has been a nightmare, with commuters often spending one and a half to two hours to travel just 1 kilometer.

The resumption of two-way traffic on this stretch of University road welcome decision which is expected to ease the congestion and reduce travel time for drivers.

The previous entry restrictions from Pune University Chowk to Shivaji Nagar via Ganeshkhind Road have now been lifted, allowing vehicles to in both directions on this route. Commuters are expected to experience smoother travel and save time with this updated traffic flow.
