Pune is set for a warm mid-January spell with fluctuating temperatures and cloudy skies, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On January 16, 2025, the city’s minimum temperature is predicted to dip slightly to 19.12°C, while the maximum is forecasted to reach 30.51°C. Humidity levels are expected to rise to 44%, prompting residents to plan outdoor activities carefully due to warmer conditions.

The city’s air quality, with an AQI of 186, remains in the “moderate” category. Health advisories have been issued, particularly for children, elderly individuals, and those with respiratory conditions such as asthma, advising them to limit prolonged outdoor exposure.

In the coming days, Pune is likely to experience varying weather patterns. A gradual rise in temperatures, potentially by 3°C, is expected across central Maharashtra, indicating a shift from the cooler conditions observed earlier this month. Cloudy skies will persist, with possible light rainfall in West Maharashtra, North Maharashtra, and Marathwada due to cyclonic circulation in the southeast Arabian Sea.

The IMD’s 7-day forecast highlights fluctuating minimum and maximum temperatures along with changing humidity levels, with farmers being cautioned about the potential impact on fruit crops due to fog and unseasonal rainfall in parts of North Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Northern Maharashtra, western Maharashtra, and Marathwada are under weather alerts due to expected rainfall and temperature variations. The IMD urges residents to stay updated with official advisories for real-time weather alerts.
