Pune, January 9, 2025 – The winter chill in Pune is showing signs of retreat as minimum temperatures rise gradually across the district. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city will continue to experience mild weather with no drastic changes expected in the immediate future.

Gradual Temperature Rise Observed

Over the past 24 hours, Pune witnessed a slight dip of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures. However, dry conditions are expected to persist for the next 24 hours, stabilizing the cold weather. Following this period, the IMD predicts a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius as clear skies dominate with some afternoon cloud cover.

The current minimum temperatures recorded across Pune areas on January 9, 2025, are as follows:

  • Chinchwad: 17.1°C
  • Lavale: 16.1°C
  • Koregaon Park: 15.8°C
  • Lonavala: 15.5°C
  • Dapodi: 15.1°C
  • Girivan: 14.5°C
  • Bhor: 13.9°C
  • Dhamdhere: 12.8°C
  • Ballalwadi: 12.8°C
  • Rajgurunagar: 12.0°C
  • Nimigiri: 11.9°C
  • Indapur: 11.9°C
  • NarayanGaon: 11.7°C
  • Talegaon: 11.7°C
  • Pashan: 11.3°C
  • Baramati: 11.3°C
  • Daund: 11.2°C
  • Shivajinagar: 10.9°C
  • Ambegaon: 10.4°C
  • Malin: 10.4°C
  • NDA: 10.1°C
  • Shirur: 10.1°C
  • Haveli: 9.3°C

Kolhapur recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 8.2°C.

Pleasant Weather Ahead

The IMD forecasts that the minimum temperatures in Pune will hover between 14°C and 20°C in the coming days, depending on the location. With the city not experiencing biting cold conditions over the past week, residents can expect mild winter days ahead.

Mild Chill to Persist

Areas such as NDA, Pashan, Shivajinagar, and Haveli, where temperatures are currently ranging between 9°C and 11°C, continue to offer a mild chill. However, the overall trend indicates a weakening grip of winter, ensuring a more comfortable climate for Punekars.
