Pune: Woman Fatally Attacked by Colleague in Yerawada IT Company Parking Lot
Pune, January 08, 2025: A tragic incident of workplace violence has shaken the city, where a 28-year-old woman was fatally attacked by her colleague in the parking area of a multinational IT company located in Ramwadi, Yerawada, Pune. The attack took place on the evening of January 7, 2025, around 6:15 PM.
The deceased has been identified as Shubhada Shankar Kodare, a resident of Balajinagar, Katraj, originally from Karad. She worked as an accountant in the call center of the multinational company. The accused, Krishna Satyanarayana Kanaujia, 30, residing in Khairewadi, Shivajinagar, was also employed as an accountant in the same company.
According to preliminary reports, the attack occurred following a heated argument between the two in the company’s parking area. Krishna allegedly attacked Shubhada with a sharp weapon, causing a severe injury to her right arm. She was immediately rushed to Sahyadri Hospital in Yerawada for treatment but succumbed to excessive bleeding during medical care.
Police officials stated that the attack was possibly motivated by a monetary dispute. It is reported that Shubhada had borrowed ₹4 lakh from Krishna and had not repaid the amount, leading to frequent conflicts between the two.
The Yerawada Police have arrested Krishna and are continuing their investigation. Further details on the murder weapon and the exact motive are still being verified. This shocking incident has raised concerns over workplace safety and conflict management in professional environments.
