Rain and thunderstorms predicted in many districts of Maharashtra today; check details
Pune, November 15, 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts, predicting thunderstorms, lightning and rain tomorrow. The alert warns of potential weather impact, for which local residents have been advised to remain alert.
According to Anupam Kashyapi, former weather forecasting department head, IMD Pune, these districts may witness moderate rain and thunderstorms, and residents have been advised to take necessary precautions. The IMD has also predicted very light to light rain in Pune, Raigad, Solapur, Latur and Dharashiv districts, which may bring some relief from the dry weather in these areas.
Also, Pune has witnessed an increase in night temperatures, which is an indication of an increase in the relative humidity (RH) levels. This trend indicates that humidity may increase at night, which may hamper people’s comfortable sleep.
Meanwhile Nashik recorded the minimum temperature in Maharashtra at 13.2 degrees Celsius and Santacruz recorded the maximum temperature at 36.8 degrees Celsius.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take safety measures in view of the changing weather conditions, especially in districts that are under Yellow Alert.
