Road Rage in Hinjawadi: Tempo Traveller driver booked for assaulting IT professional
An incident of road rage has come to light from Hinjawadi near Vinode Vasti, where a Tempo Traveller driver has been booked for assaulting an IT professional and causing injuries for objecting to reckless driving.
On Thursday, June 06, a 32-year-old software engineer was returning home with his wife after finishing their work at an IT company in Hinjawadi. A Tempo Traveller driver tried to overtake and block the couple’s car at a narrow stretch of the road near Silver Spoon Hotel in Vinode Vasti, Hinjawadi.
When the software engineer, a resident of Tathawade objected and tried to tell the minibus driver to drive properly, he started verbally abusing him leading to a physical altercation between the two. The accused then held the software engineer by his collar, dragged him to ground and started punching blows on his chest and head. The victim suffered head injuries.
The wife of the engineer raised an alarm while the bystanders detained the accused until the police arrived. The police swiftly sent the injured software engineer for treatment, who later lodged an FIR with Hinjawadi Police Station.
According to the FIR, the police have booked the suspect under relevant sections and investigations are underway.
