Pune – In a shocking incident on Sunday night, a motorcyclist was dragged on the bonnet of an Audi car for over three kilometers following an argument in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area. Police arrested the driver and his two associates hours after the incident.

The victim, Zacheria Mathew, was riding a motorcycle with a friend when their two-wheeler was rear-ended by the Audi near Bijlinagar. Upon confronting the car occupants about reckless driving, Mathew and his friend were verbally and physically assaulted. The situation escalated when Patil attempted to run Mathew over, forcing him to cling to the car’s bonnet. Patil then drove for over three kilometers, dragging Mathew from Sambhaji Chowk to Mangal Medical in Bijlinagar before stopping to drop off an unidentified female passenger.

“All occupants appeared intoxicated and started abusing and attacking us when I asked them to drive responsibly,” Mathew said. “I clung to the car’s bonnet to save my life.”

CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts helped police identify the suspects. Blood samples have been sent for alcohol testing, and police have filed charges under Sections 109, 115(2), 352, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Nigdi Police Station has secured police custody for two of the accused, while another has been sent to magistrate custody. Investigations are ongoing.
