The incident occurred late last night when Arun Kapse, a resident of Indrayani Nagar, ordered a ₹596 pizza online from Domino’s Pizza located at Jay Ganesh Samrajya Chowk. Excited to enjoy the meal with his family, the evening took a horrifying turn when a bite of the pizza caused sharp discomfort in his mouth. Upon inspection, Kapse found a broken blade fragment—likely from a pizza cutter—lodged in the pizza slice.
Describing the ordeal, Arun Kapse said, “It was utterly shocking and terrifying. My family’s safety was at risk due to negligence. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, but this could have ended very differently.”
Alarmed, Kapse immediately contacted the Domino’s Pizza outlet to report the incident. However, initial responses from the manager were dismissive, with vague assurances instead of prompt action. It was only after the manager personally inspected the fragment at Kapse’s residence that the seriousness of the situation sank in.
Domino’s responded by refunding the full amount of the order on the spot, but the incident has left lasting concerns. “This is not just about money. This is about the health and safety of countless customers,” Kapse remarked. He is planning to file an official complaint with the Pune District Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
