As per IMD, most districts in Maharashtra will witness heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds during the next 3-4 days.

1. Yellow Alert – Heavy rainfall at isolated places

Affected Districts – Thane (July 3 and 6), Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara

2. Yellow Alert – Thunderstorms accompanied with lightening and strong winds

Affected Districts – Dhule (July 3 and 7), Nandurbar (July 3, 6 & 7), Jalgaon (July 3, 6 & 7), Nashik (July 3 and 7), Ahmednagar (July 3), Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (July 3, 6 & 7), Jalna (July 3, 6 & 7), Parbhani (July 3, 6 & 7), Hingoli (July 3 and 6), Nanded (July 6), Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal.

3. Green Alert – Light to moderate rain

Affected Districts – Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Sangli, Sholapur, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv.

Monsoon covered entire India on July 02, which is 6 days ahead of its normal date of July 08. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) data stated that this was the third consecutive year that the monsoon advancement over the entire country was realized on July 2.

National Weather Forecast

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Northwest and Central India during the next 5 days. Regions like Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana-Chandigarh are likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall from July 4-7. Similarly, Punjab and East Rajasthan can expect heavy downpours from July 3-7, while West Madhya Pradesh will see heavy rain from July 3-5. East Madhya Pradesh is predicted to have heavy rain on July 3-4, and Chhattisgarh on July 3. Additionally, isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Haryana-Chandigarh on July 3, Uttarakhand on July 7, and Uttar Pradesh from July 3-7.

East and Northeast India are also forecasted to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over the next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 4-5, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on July 7, Odisha from July 3-7, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand on July 4, and Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on July 6-7. Furthermore, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on July 4, Gangetic West Bengal on July 5, Bihar on July 5, Uttarakhand on July 7, Arunachal Pradesh on July 3, 4, and 7, and Assam and Meghalaya on July 3 and 7. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on July 5-6 and Assam & Meghalaya from July 4-8.

In Southern and Western India, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, and Gujarat State. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is anticipated over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Interior Karnataka, while isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is predicted for Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana over the next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan & Goa, Kerala & Mahe, and Karnataka State from July 3-7, with Madhya Maharashtra expecting heavy rain on July 3-4. Saurashtra & Kutch are likely to experience heavy rainfall on July 3, and the Gujarat Region on July 4-5. Additionally, isolated very heavy rainfall is anticipated over the Gujarat Region on July 3 and over the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from July 5-7.
